Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-06-28

By installing or using ABEL, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the product.

1. The service

ABEL is a desktop application that integrates with Ableton Live to provide AI-assisted music production features, including chat-driven session control, cloud song generation, and on-demand Live Extension authoring.

2. Accounts and credits

3. Credits & billing

4. Fair use

Credits are intended for a single producer's interactive use of ABEL. Sustained automated usage outside normal product workflows (scripted bulk generation, API scraping, reselling output as a service) is not permitted and may result in account suspension without refund of remaining credit.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

6. Your content

You retain all rights to the music, samples, MIDI, projects, and extensions you create with ABEL. We claim no ownership over your output. We do not use your prompts, projects, or generated audio to train AI models.

7. Third-party models

Cloud AI features are powered by third parties (Anthropic, Cloudflare Workers AI / MiniMax and partner models). These providers have their own terms of service and content policies. ABEL forwards your requests to them on your behalf. Output quality, copyright status of generated audio, and content policy enforcement are not under our direct control — you accept the underlying providers' terms when you use those features.

8. Local features

Local audio generation and direct control of your Live session happen on your machine. We don't see what you do with them. Local features are provided "as is" and depend on the state of your Live install, your hardware (GPU for local models), and AbletonOSC being correctly installed.

9. Ableton and trademarks

ABEL is an independent product. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Ableton AG. "Ableton" and "Live" are trademarks of Ableton AG and are used here descriptively to identify compatibility.

10. Service availability

We don't promise 100% uptime. We aim for high availability of the cloud API (chat, song generation, billing) but cannot guarantee it. Scheduled maintenance and unexpected outages are part of operating a service.

11. Termination

You can stop using ABEL at any time by uninstalling the app. Since there is no recurring subscription, there is nothing to cancel — your remaining credit balance simply sits dormant on your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that are involved in fraud, abuse, or chargebacks; remaining credit on terminated accounts is forfeit.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

ABEL is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. This includes warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, offensive, or inappropriate — you're responsible for reviewing it before using it in your work.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of ABEL is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We're not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.

14. Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated by email to account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of ABEL after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco, CA.
